Multi Tasking Staff (Sanitation) Grade-III Syllabus:
1. Hospital Cleaning Techniques & Protocols: 
Sweeping & Dusting: Dry dusting vs. damp dusting techniques, high dusting, microfiber usage, avoiding dry sweeping in critical care areas. Mopping & Scrubbing: Two-bucket and three-bucket mopping systems, flat mop handling, floor scrubbing machines, and buffing operations. Cleaning Zones & Frequencies: Routine, terminal, and deep cleaning schedules for General Wards, Outpatient Departments (OPD), ICUs, Operation Theatres (OT), corridors, and public waiting halls.
Surface Cleaning: Cleaning high-touch surfaces (bed rails, door handles, IV poles, stretchers, call bells, switches).
2. Sanitation Chemicals, Disinfectants & Dilutions : 
Common Hospital Disinfectants: Properties, dilution ratios, and contact times for Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach), quaternary ammonium compounds, hydrogen peroxide, and alcohol-based surface cleaners.
Spill Management: Blood, vomit, urine, and body fluid spill management using spill kits (sodium hypochlorite concentration, contact time, absorbent materials).
Restroom & Sanitary Fixture Cleaning: De-scaling agents, toilet bowl cleaners, floor wash disinfectants, odour neutralizers, and drainage maintenance.
3. Bio-Medical Waste (BMW) Management Rules: 
Waste Segregation by Colour-Coded Bins:
Yellow: Human anatomical waste, soiled cotton/gauze, expired medicines, chemical waste.
Red: Contaminated recyclable plastics (IV tubing, catheters, urine bags, syringes without needles, gloves).
White (Translucent): Sharps (needles, scalpels, blades, fixed needles).
Blue: Glassware, metallic implants, broken ampoules/vials.
Waste Handling & Transport: Safe sealing, barcoding labels, use of puncture-proof containers, and trolley-based transit to the central hospital waste storage facility.
4. Infection Control & Hospital Hygiene : 
Personal Hygiene & PPE: Types and correct donning/doffing order of Personal Protective Equipment (gloves, masks, aprons, eye protection, rubber boots).
Hand Hygiene: WHO 6-step hand washing technique and alcohol-based hand rub applications.
Sharps Safety & Needle-stick Protocol: Preventing sharps injuries, safe needle handling, and immediate reporting protocols.
Isolation Precautions: Sanitation procedures in isolation wards, airborne infection rooms, and barrier nursing units.
5. Hospital Safety & General Duties: 
Ergonomics & Physical Safety: Safe lifting and pushing practices for heavy linen/waste bins, caution signage ("Wet Floor"), preventing slips and falls.
Pest & Rodent Control: Identification of breeding areas, reporting infestations, and maintaining waste-free zones.
