A person of Indian origin who has migrated back from any of the following countries - Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma. Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zaire, and Vietnam to settle in India permanently.
Number of Attempts
As per the notification, there is no mention of how many attempts a candidate can make for the post of Patwari. Although, there is an age limit prescribed by the DDA. Therefore, candidates can only re-attempt for this exam while they fulfill this age limit.
