Rules of Tenses With Example
TENSE
Tense किसी कार्य के समय तथा उसकी अवस्था को दर्शाता हैं। Tense क्रिया के विभिन्न रूपों का अध्ययन हैं।
Important Rules of Tense -
Simple Present Tense -
Subject + first form of verb + s/es + Object/Complement
Uses
1. स्थायी कार्य (permanent activity), चिरन्तन सत्य (universal truth), सिद्वान्त (principle), लोकोक्ति (proverbs) का बोध कराने के लिए इस Tense का प्रयोग किया जाता हैं।
e.g. The Earth revolves around the Sun.
2. स्वाभाविक (habitual), नियमित (regular) बार-बार होने वाले (repeated) कार्य को अभिव्यक्त (express) करने के लिए इस tense का प्रयोग किया जाता हैं।
e.g. My grandmother gets up everyday at 5’O clock.
Present Continuous Tense –
Subject + is/are + ing form of verb + Object/Complement
Uses
1. इस tense का प्रयोग निकट भविष्य (near future) के कार्यक्रम या योजना का बोध कराने के लिए किया जाता हैं।
e.g. Guests are coming next week.
2. इरादा (intention) या सम्भावना (likelihood) का बोध कराने के लिए इस Tense का प्रयोग किया जाता है और इससे future time का बोध भी होता हैं।
e.g. Sachin is playing to score more runs.
Present Perfect Tense -
Subject + has/have + third form of verb + Object/Complement
Uses
1. इस tense का प्रयोग उस स्थिति के लिए किया जाता हैं जहाँ कार्य (actions) अभी-अभी पूरा हुआ हो।
e.g. I have just had tea.
2. जब कोई क्रिया past में हुई हो, परन्तु उसका प्रभाव present में हो।
e.g. The school has hiked the fee.
3. इस tense का प्रयोग अभी खत्म हुए ऐसे कार्य के लिए किया जाता है जिसका समय ज्ञात ना हो।
e.g. Have you had your breakfast.
Note – Yet, Already, Ever, Just, Never, So far, Till now, Upto, Now के साथ Present Perfect Tense का प्रयोग होता हैं।
Present Perfect Continuous Tense -
Subject + has/have + been + ing form of verb + Object + Since/For + time
Uses
1. इस tense का प्रयोग मुख्यतः वहाँ किया जाता है जहाँ कोई कार्य शुरू तो भूतकाल में हुआ हो और अभी भी हो रहा हो।
e.g. It has been raining since yesterday.
Note – निश्चित समय के लिए ‘since’ तथा अनिश्चित समय के लिए ‘for’ का प्रयोग किया जाता हैं।
Simple Past Tense –
Subject + Second form of verb + Object/Complement
Uses
1. जब कोई क्रिया past में किसी निश्चित समय पर समाप्त हुई हो परन्तु समय ज्ञात न हो।
e.g. She went to the zoo with her father.
2. past की किसी आदत के लिए
e.g. I used to fly kite.
Past Continuous Tense –
Subject + was/were + ing form of verb + Object/Complement
Uses
1. Past की किसी क्रिया के लिए जो कुछ समय तक जारी रहे परन्तु जिसकी सीमा (limit) ज्ञात न हो।
e.g. It was drizzling.
2. जब एक साथ एक ही समय में दो कार्य घटित हों, तो पहले से होने वाली क्रिया के साथ इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है।
e.g. While I was driving, he was listening to music.
Past Perfect Tense –
Subject + had + third from of verb + Object/Complement
Uses
1. Past की दो घटनाएँ जिनमें एक पहले घटित हुई हो तथा दूसरी बाद में ,तो पहली घटना के लिए इसका प्रयोग किया जाता हैं।
e.g. The birthday party had been started when we entered the hall.
2. Past में किसी विशेष समय पर घटित हुई घटना या स्थिति के लिए
e.g. She had completed his graduation by the age of 20 years.
3. Past में पूरी न हुई इच्छा के लिए
e.g. I wish I had completed the task earlier.
Past Perfect Continuous Tense –
Subject + had been + ing form of verb + object + since/for + time
Uses
1. जब कोई कार्य past के किसी निश्चित समय से पहले शुरू होकर, उस समय तक चलता रहा हो।
e.g. Indian cricket team had been winning several matches since world cup.
2. जब past में एक विशेष समय से पहले किसी कार्य के पूरा होने की आशा थीं।
e.g. I had been expecting a change in the outlool of my school.
Simple Future Tense –
Subject + will + first form of verb + object/complement
Uses
1. सहज या स्वाभाविक निर्णय के लिए
e.g. We shall go there at any cost.
2. भविष्य की कल्पना के लिए
e.g. She will be a manager in the publication house.
