Bihar SHS ANM Recruitment 2025
The State Health Society (SHS) Bihar has initiated a significant recruitment drive for the position of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) in 2025. This recruitment, under advertisement number 08/2025, aims to fill a large number of contractual posts to strengthen the state's public healthcare system, particularly under the National Health Mission (NHM).

II. Eligibility Criteria:
1. Educational Qualification: Applicants must possess a two-year full-time Diploma in Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) from an institute recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
2. Registration: Registration with the Bihar Nurses Registration Council is a mandatory requirement.
3. Age Limit (as of August 1, 2025): The minimum age is 21 years. The maximum age for female candidates varies by category:
Unreserved/EWS/BC/EBC: 40 years
SC/ST: 42 years
4. Application Fee For Candidate: The application fee is structured based on the applicant's category and domicile status. For General/Backward/EBC/EWS candidates, the fee is ₹500. For SC/ST/PwD/female candidates from Bihar, it is ₹125. All candidates from outside Bihar, regardless of category, must pay ₹500.
III. Selection Process:
The selection process for the SHS Bihar ANM posts is based on a merit list, which is prepared by giving weightage to both a written exam and prior work experience.
1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): The CBT will consist of 60 objective-type questions for 60 marks, with a duration of 2 hours. A significant feature is that there is no negative marking. The CBT score is given an 80% weightage in the final merit calculation.
2. Experience Weightage: Candidates with experience as a "COVID ANM" will receive an additional 5 marks for each year of experience, up to a maximum of 20 marks. This is given a 20% weightage in the final score.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification to confirm their eligibility.
IV. Salary and Job Profile:
1. Salary: The selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly honorarium of ₹15,000. This is a contractual position, so the in-hand salary is the fixed amount with minimal deductions.
2. Job Profile: ANMs are essential frontline healthcare workers, particularly in rural and remote areas.
Their responsibilities include:
I. Providing maternal and child health care services, including antenatal and postnatal care.
II. Conducting immunization and vaccination drives.
III. Maintaining health records and data.
IV. Promoting health awareness and hygiene in the community.
V. Assisting in family planning programs.
VI. Working in close coordination with other health workers, such as ASHAs.
