CAT 2018 Syllabus is prescribed by the exam conducting authority. CAT (Common Admission Test) will be managed by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM), Calcutta. It is a national level admission test organized for providing admission into postgraduate business administration programmes.
The CAT Syllabus divided into four sections: Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning.
1. Quantitative Ability or Mathematics : geometry, number system, interest, quadratic & linear equations, probability, trigonometry, time & work, percentages, profit & loss, algebra, LCM & HCF, averages, permutation, ratio & proportions, complex numbers, etc.
2. Data Interpretation : graphs (line, area), Interpretation and analysis of data based on text, Charts (Column, bar, pie), tables, paragraph, venn diagram, etc.
3. Verbal Ability & English : verbal reasoning, antonyms and synonyms, sentence correction, fill in the blanks, critical reasoning, syllogisms, analogies, idioms, etc.
4. Logical Reasoning : Direction sense, clocks & calendars, puzzles, binary logic, seating arrangement, coding- decoding, blood relations, logical sequence, data structure, assumption, premise, conclusion, linear and matrix arrangement, etc.
