Forest Beat Officer Notification 2025
The "Forest Beat Officer Notification 2025" has been released by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), along with Assistant Beat Officer (ABO) vacancies. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 691 posts in the A.P. Forest Subordinate Service, comprising 256 Forest Beat Officer (FBO) and 435 Assistant Beat Officer (ABO) positions.
Key Dates:
The official notification was released on July 14, 2025. Online applications commenced on July 16, 2025, and the last date to apply and pay the application fee is August 5, 2025. Exam dates for the screening and main examinations will be announced separately.
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate Examination (Class 12) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized board.
Age Limit: As of July 1, 2025, candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old. Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
Physical Requirements:
1. Male Candidates: Minimum height of 163 cm, chest measurement of not less than 84 cm on full inspiration, with a minimum 5 cm expansion. They must also complete a 25 km walk in 4 hours.
2 Female Candidates: Minimum height of 150 cm, chest measurement of not less than 79 cm on full inspiration, with a minimum 5 cm expansion. They must complete a 16 km walk in 4 hours.
Relaxations in height are provided for candidates belonging to certain hilly and tribal communities. Normal eyesight is also a requirement.
Application Process:
Interested candidates can apply online through the official APPSC website, psc.ap.gov.in. A One-Time Profile Registration (OTPR) is required for new applicants. The application fee is Rs. 250 for processing and Rs. 80 for the examination, with exemptions for SC, ST, BC, and Ex-Servicemen from the examination fee.
Selection Process:
The selection process for FBO/ABO posts typically involves multiple stages:
1. Screening Test: An objective-type preliminary exam (if applicants exceed 200 times the vacancies) covering General Studies and Mental Ability, and General Science and General Mathematics.
2. Main Examination: An objective-type examination for qualified candidates from the screening test. It includes General Studies & Mental Ability, General Science & General Mathematics, and an Essay Writing section (qualifying).
3. Physical Tests: Includes a Physical Measurements Test (PMT) and a walking endurance test.
4. Medical Examination: Candidates must clear a medical examination.
5. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): A mandatory test for final selection.
6. Document Verification: Verification of all original documents.
