HPPSC Assistant Professor Eligibility 2026:
Educational Qualification:
A good academic record with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) at the Master's degree level in the relevant subject from a recognized Indian University, or an equivalent foreign degree recognized by the Government of India.
A 5% relaxation (55% to 50%) at the Master's level is available for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates and for Physically/Visually Handicapped candidates.
A 5% relaxation is also available to Ph.D. holders who completed their Master's degree before September 1991.
Candidates must have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or an equivalent test accredited by HPPSC, such as SLET/SET, since NET/SLET remains the minimum eligibility condition for Assistant Professor recruitment.
Ph.D. holders are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, provided their Ph.D. was awarded in regular mode, evaluated by at least two external examiners, included an open viva-voce, and is supported by at least two published research papers (one in a refereed journal) plus two conference presentations from the Ph.D. work.
Candidates who qualified SET-2026 are also eligible to apply, and the application window will be reopened for them if the SET-2026 result is declared after the regular closing date.

Salary: Rs. 35,000/- per month (Job Trainee, fixed)
Selection Process: two-paper written test on the same day followed by a Personality Test

How to Apply for HPPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026
1. Visit the official HPPSC website at http://www.hppsc.hp.gov.in/hppsc.
2. Click on the "Apply Online" link on the homepage.
3. Select "One Time Registration (OTR) for Examinations" and complete "New Registration" if not already registered.
4. Log in to the OTR account and view the list of live advertisements on the dashboard.
5. Select the relevant subject advertisement (e.g., Hindi – 47/6-2026, History – 48/6-2026) and fill in the application form.
6. Upload scanned copies of the required documents, including Matriculation certificate, degree/marksheets, category certificate, and Bonafide HP certificate.
7. Pay the Rs. 600 application fee online via Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, or other digital mode.
8. Give the undertaking confirming that uploaded documents are legible and readable, then submit the final application.
9. Download or save the confirmation/printout for future reference.
