Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the IB Security Assistant (Motor Transport) position, candidates must meet the following criteria as of September 28, 2025:
I. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Matriculation (Class 10th) examination or its equivalent from a recognized board.
1. Driving License: Possession of a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license is a mandatory requirement.
2. Motor Mechanism Knowledge: Candidates must have a basic knowledge of motor mechanisms, with the ability to identify and rectify minor defects in a vehicle.
3. Driving Experience: At least one year of driving experience after obtaining the valid LMV driving license is required.
II. Age Limit: The minimum age is 18 years, and the maximum is 27 years. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.
III. Domicile: Candidates must possess a domicile certificate of the state they are applying from.
Selection Process
The selection for the IB Security Assistant (Motor Transport) position is a multi-stage process designed to test both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
I. Tier-I Written Examination: This is a 100-mark Computer-Based Test (CBT) with 100 objective-type questions. The exam duration is one hour, and there is a negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answer. The paper covers five sections:

2. Quantitative Aptitude
3. Reasoning Ability
4. English Language
5. Basic Transport/Driving Rules and Motor Mechanism
II. Tier-II Driving and Motor Mechanism Test: This is a practical and skill-based test for 50 marks. It is a qualifying round where candidates are assessed on their driving skills, ability to handle minor vehicle repairs, and adherence to traffic rules.
III. Document Verification & Medical Examination: Final selection is subject to a thorough verification of all original documents and a mandatory medical examination to ensure the candidate's physical fitness.
Salary and Job Profile
I. Salary: The IB Security Assistant (Motor Transport) post falls under Level 3 of the 7th Pay Commission, with a pay scale of ₹21,700 to ₹69,100. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates are entitled to various allowances, including a Special Security Allowance (SSA) of 20% of their basic pay. The gross monthly salary is approximately ₹33,000 to ₹38,000.
II. Job Profile: A Security Assistant (Motor Transport) is responsible for providing driving support to senior officers and various IB units. The role involves driving vehicles, maintaining their upkeep, and ensuring the safety of the passengers.
