ICHR Junior Research Fellow Eligibility 2026:
Educational Qualification:- Candidates must have registered for a Ph.D. program in historical studies in a recognized university.
Age Limit:
Minimum age: 18 years
Maximum age: 32 years
Application Fee:
For all Candidates: Rs. 500/-
SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PWD) category: NIL
Salary: Rs.17,600/-Per Month + Rs.16,500/- Contingency Grant per annum
Selection Process:
Stage-I: Online Entrance Test (100 Marks - 100 objective questions, no negative marking)
Stage-II: Presentation-cum-Interview (60 Marks)
Final Merit: 100 (Stage-I) + 60 (Stage-II) = 160 Marks
How to Apply for ICHR Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026
1. Visit the official website of the Indian Council of Historical Research: www.ichr.ac.in.
2. Click on the link for “Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) 2026” or the “Online Application” link.
3. Register yourself by providing the required basic details. A unique ID number will be generated.
4. Log in using the credentials and fill out the online application form with all the required personal, educational, and research details. Candidates must choose their area of specialization (Ancient/Medieval/Modern India) at this stage.
5. Upload scanned copies of your recent photograph, signature, and other required documents.
6. Pay the application fee of Rs. 500 online. (SC/ST/PwD candidates are exempted from the fee).
7. Submit the online application form and take a printout of the completed form (with the auto-generated number).
8. Sign the printout, attach self-attested copies of the required documents (as per the checklist), and send it by post to the following address:
