Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualifications:
1. For many technical posts (e.g. Technical Assistant, Technician) a relevant Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent in relevant trade/field is required.
2. For non-technical posts like Junior Assistant, Stenographer etc, there are specific requirements (typing speed, computer skills etc).
Age limits:
1. The regular age limit is per NIT / Government of India rules (Non-Teaching rules 2019). Relaxation provided for SC/ST/OBC-NCL / PwBD / Ex-servicemen etc as per applicable Govt rules.
2. Maximum age limit in some cases is around 50 years for certain posts / categories.
Application Fee :
1. For Unreserved (UR), OBC-NCL, EWS categories: ₹1,500 (₹1,000 online facilitation/processing + ₹500 as examination / application fee)
2. For SC / ST / PwBD / Women candidates (all categories): ₹1,000

Selection Process:
The recruitment comprises multiple stages. Key ones are:
Stage I: Screening Test
1. Computer Based Test with MCQs. Typically 60 questions, split into two parts: Part A (general: reasoning, English, numerical aptitude, general science etc), Part B (post-specific).
2. Duration: approx. 75 minutes.
3. Minimum qualifying marks (often around 30% i.e. 18/60) for UR/OBC etc; for SC/ST sometimes a bit lower.
Stage II: Skill Test / Practical / Typing / Computer Proficiency etc
1. Depending on the post, there is a skill test. For example: laboratory experiments (for technicians/technical posts), typing & computer proficiency (for clerical/steno/post-processing posts).
2. Minimum qualifying marks set (often ~30%).
Stage III: Final Test / Computer Based / Final Merit / Verification of Documents
1. Final MCQ test (again) for those qualifying the earlier stages.
2. Document verification happens before or during this stage. If candidate doesn’t produce necessary documents, they may be disqualified.
3. Final selection is based on combined performance (usually from screening, skill & final test), reservation provisions, eligibility etc.
