Chapter I: Preliminary (The Foundation)
1. Objectives and Background: The Vishaka Guidelines (1997) and the evolution of the Act.
2. Section 1: Short title, extent, and commencement.
3. Section 2: Key Definitions (Critical for Exams):
2(a) Aggrieved Woman: (Includes women of all ages, employed or not).
2(f) Employee: (Regular, ad-hoc, daily wage, volunteer, or intern).
2(o) Workplace: (Private, Government, Hospitals, Sports Institutes, and even dwelling houses).
2(p) Sexual Harassment: (The 5-point definition: Physical contact, demand for favors, sexually colored remarks, showing pornography, or unwelcome conduct).
Chapter II: Constitution of Internal Committee (IC)
Section 4: Internal Committee (IC):
Mandatory for workplaces with 10 or more employees.
Composition: Presiding Officer (Woman), 2 Employees, and 1 External Member (NGO/Legal).
