RRB TGT Teacher (Social Science) Eligibility 2026
Educational Qualification :
TGT Social Science :
(A) Graduation with subjects in any two of the following: History, Geography, Economics and Political Science of which one must be either History or Geography and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
Atleast 50% marks either in Graduation with subjects in any two of the following: History, Geography, Economics and Political Science of which one must be either History or Geography or in Post-Graduation (History/ Geography/ Economics/Political Science) and B.Ed.
OR
Graduation with subjects in any two of the following: History, Geography, Economics and Political Science of which one must be either History or Geography with atleast 45% marks
and 1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
12th (+2Stage) or it equivalent with atleast 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
OR
12th(+2Stage) or its equivalent with atleast 50% marks and 4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with subjects in any two of the following: History, Geography, Economics and Political Science of which one must be either History or Geography with atleast 50%
marks and 1-year B.Ed.(Special Education).
OR
Post-Graduation (History/ Geography/ Economics/Political Science) with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and three years integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.
(B) Pass in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) to be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose.
Provided that minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of
Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to the 09th December 2013.
(C) Competency in teaching in Hindi and English Medium.
NOTE: Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC/PwBD.
Social Science (Female) :
(A) Graduation with subjects in any two of the following: History, Geography, Economics and Political Science of which one must be either History or Geography and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

1. Rs.500 for all candidates (Rs.400 will be refunded on appearing in 1st stage of CBT).
2. Rs.250 for SC/ ST/ Female/ Transgender/ EXSM/ PWD/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class candidates (Rs.250 will be refunded on appearing in 1st stage of CBT).
Salary : Rs. 44,900/- (Pay Level-7)
Selection Process : Selection will be based on CBT, Stenography Skill Test, Performance Test/ Teaching Skill Test, Translation Test (as applicable) and DV/ Medical Examination.
