Ocean Leaders Fellowship Program 2026: Empowering Global Marine Conservation Leaders
1. Program Overview
This is a fully funded fellowship open to candidates from all over the world. The program lasts for a duration of eight months.
2. Core Objective (The 30x30 Initiative)
The fellowship is specifically focused on the Global 30x30 Initiative. The goal of this initiative is to ensure the protection of 30% of the Earth's land and oceans by the year 2030.
3. Key Responsibilities
Selected fellows will work towards accelerating the effective implementation of:
(i) Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) at a national level.
(ii) Biodiversity goals and conservation targets.
4. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
(i) Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 35 years.
(ii) Skills: Must demonstrate leadership capacity or strong potential in the fields of marine conservation, climate change, or environmental policy.
