Unit 1: Child Development Introduction -

Concept of development, stages of development pregnancy, infancy, early and late childhood, adolescence.

Factors affecting development: nature and nurture, continuity and discontinuity, early and later experiences.

Social and cultural background of child development.

Introducing children to some of the methods of study.

Unit 2: Aspects of Development -

(a) Physical and motor development, development of body control and coordination

Unit 3-Why teach environmental studies : Concerns of EVS curriculum, Formation of concepts, Concepts of Social Studies at the primary stage, What are skills? Development of skills

Unit 4- Pedagogy of environmental studies :
