MP SET Eligibility Criteria 2026 :
Education Qualification :
1. The candidate should be a University or an Educational Institution established by a Central Act or a State Act or under the University Grants Commission, 1956 Under (Notification No. 03 of 1956) a person who has passed post graduation from the university or is studying in the final year of post graduation / third semester of post graduation / fourth semester of post graduation will be eligible.
2. Minimum 55% marks in post-graduation degree for candidates belonging to Unreserved/General, Other Backward Class (Creamy Layer) category and 55% marks in post-graduation degree for reserved category candidates (50% marks are required only for SC, ST, OBC (except creamy layer) and handicapped candidates of Madhya Pradesh.
3. Candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category are required to have minimum 55% marks in post graduation as per UGC guidelines like unreserved category candidates.
4. Candidates who are studying in the final year of post graduation and whose final year post graduation result has not been declared or the result is awaited, all such candidates are provisionally eligible to appear in the examination.
5. Even if the candidates studying in the final year are eligible for the examination, their eligibility certificate will be valid only if they have qualified for the Unreserved, EWS and Other Backward Classes (Creamy Layer) category within two years of declaration of the State Eligibility Test result Minimum 55% marks in post graduate degree for SC/ST category candidates and 55% marks in reserved category candidates (Only SC, ST, OBC (except creamy layer) and differently abled candidates of Madhya Pradesh must have secured minimum 50% marks.
6. Candidates holding PhD degree who have completed their post-graduation examination by September 19, 1991, will be eligible for 5% relaxation (from 55% to 50%) in educational qualification.
7. Candidates who possess a postgraduate degree/diploma/certificate from any university in India or from any university or institute abroad will also be eligible to appear in the eligibility test, However, they will have to obtain a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi that the degree/diploma/certificate obtained by them is equivalent to a postgraduate degree awarded by an Indian University.
